Terms &Refunds.
You get a price before any work starts — nothing is charged until you approve the quote. Because every part is made for one customer, orders can't be cancelled once production begins. But if a part we made fails, breaks, or doesn't fit, we remake it free or refund you. Your design stays yours — and if you ever want us to manufacture and sell it for you, that's a separate agreement you sign, never something that happens on its own.
How a job works
/ Table 1 — quote first, always| Step | What happens | What you pay |
|---|---|---|
| 01 | You send photos, measurements, or the broken part itself | Nothing |
| 02 | We review it and send you a written price and turnaround | Nothing |
| 03 | You approve the quote. Only then does work begin | The quoted price |
| 04 | We model, print, and check the part | Nothing further |
| 05 | Local pickup in Bakersfield, or shipped anywhere in the US | Shipping, if quoted separately |
We will never start billable work without your written approval of a price. If a job turns out to be harder than the photos suggested, we come back to you with a revised quote — we do not silently raise the price.
Cancellations
/ Before we startBefore production starts — full refund, no questions. Approve a quote and change your mind? Tell us before we begin and you get every dollar back.
Once production starts — the order can't be cancelled. Every part we make is cut, printed, or modeled for one specific customer and one specific application. It can't be put back on a shelf and sold to somebody else. That's why custom work is non-refundable once it's underway.
If you're not sure yet, just say so and we'll hold the job. We'd rather wait than take money for something you're unsure about.
If something's wrong with it
/ This is the important partIf a part we made fails, breaks, or doesn't fit — we remake it free, or we refund you. Your choice.
This isn't a technicality buried in fine print. We have already done exactly this: a part failed in the field after two weeks, and it was replaced free, redesigned so it wouldn't happen again. That's the standard we hold ourselves to.
Tell us within 30 days of receiving the part. A photo of the problem is usually all we need. We don't require you to ship it back before we start on the replacement.
One honest limit: if the part was made to measurements or a donor sample you supplied and those turn out to be wrong, the remake is a new job at a new price. We'll always tell you plainly which situation we think it is, and we'd rather be generous than argue.
Your parts, your designs
/ What we do and don't keepSend us a broken part and we send it back with the finished piece, unless you tell us to recycle it.
Your design stays yours. If you bring us an idea or a product to develop, we don't sell it, share the files, or print it for anyone else. If you ask us to keep your work confidential, we treat that as binding — not a negotiation.
We can't reproduce parts that are protected by someone else's patent, copyright, or trademark, and we'll say so up front rather than take the job and disappoint you.
If you want us to make and sell it
/ Optional — and only ever with your written OKSome customers come to us with an idea, we develop it into a finished product together, and then they'd rather not deal with manufacturing, inventory, and shipping themselves. If that's you, we can license the design and produce and sell it for you.
Three things about that, so there's no confusion:
1. It never happens automatically. We do not acquire any right to sell, license, or reproduce your design by doing paid work on it. Nothing on this page grants us that. It requires a separate written agreement that you sign.
2. It is never a condition of working with us. If you just want CAD files, prototypes, or a finished run of parts, you get exactly that and we never bring it up again. Saying no costs you nothing and changes nothing about your price or your priority.
3. The terms get written down before anything is sold. Who owns the design, whether the arrangement is exclusive, how long it runs, how you get paid, and how either of us ends it — all of that is agreed in writing first, per project. We don't do handshake royalties.
Until and unless you sign that agreement, the confidentiality above is what applies: your design is yours, and we don't sell it or show it to anyone.
Turnaround & shipping
/ What to expectMost repair and replacement jobs run 3–5 business days from approved quote to shipped. Prototyping and design work is quoted with its own timeline, because iteration takes as many rounds as it takes.
If a part is damaged in transit, tell us and we'll remake and reship it at no cost to you.
